***Due Out By Mid-2023*** I have contributed a chapter on this case for a book critically examining the reliability of UFO witness testimony, scheduled for publication in the first half of 2023 both online (in the Academia.edu portal) and in printed form (by UPIAR, Milan, Italy). Per the book's principal editor, 60 authors from 14 countries will be addressing the issue of UFO-witness reliability from a variety of disciplines such as "psychology, psychiatry, social sciences, mathematics, philosophy, anthropology, folklore, religion, clinical workers, analysts with experience in the study and handling of UFO perceivers [and more]."
The 1980 Cash-Landrum
UFO-Radiation Case
An innocent little sticker at the top of this letter from
Philip J. Klass
began my countless-hour inquiry into the legendary
1980 Cash-Landrum UFO-Radiation Case.
From my files:
- January 1982 compilation of my preliminary research findings relating to claimed radiation exposure
- My 1983 correspondence with Dr. Richard Neal (my published April 1983 letter to
the MUFON UFO Journal is at the bottom of the final page)
- The Paul Stowe "Technical Review"/Peter Rank response referenced in my April 1983 letter
(see above) to the MUFON UFO Journal
- My 1982-83 correspondence with Dr. Peter Rank: Part 1 | Part 2 |
Part 3 | Part 4
- My 1983 correspondence with MUFON UFO Journal columnist Robert Wanderer summarizing my
position in great detail
- 1981-82 correspondence between Philip Klass and Dr. Richard Niemtzow (despite the final three pages,
no such panel was formed)
- 1982 correspondence between Philip Klass and Dr. Peter Rank
- Philip Klass' 1982-83 attempts to obtain Betty Cash's relevant pre-incident medical history
from John Schuessler
- 1987 correspondence between Philip Klass and Dr. Richard Neal
- Several chapters (with my contemporaneous penciled notations and highlighting) from John Schuessler's 1998 book,
The Cash-Landrum UFO Incident:
Part 1 | Part 2 |
Part 3 | Part 4
- Audio of the 4/1/1982 (rerun from 11/16/1981) "That's Incredible!" TV show segment on the C-L case (missing the first approx. 1½ minutes)
